Administration
and Finances: Warren Cain
Administration and Finance
monitors the budget and insures that gifts and contributions are spent as
intended. They also manage personnel
issues and the church office. Another
name is Stewardship. The budget is
available through the church office.
Buildings
and Grounds: Lyman Drake
Buildings and Grounds maintains the property, responding to emergencies as well as routine needs. Doers are welcome.
Christian
Education: Lyn Johnson
Education focuses on the
learning objectives of the Christian life, Christian including programs for
Sunday School classes for all ages, Vacation Bible School with Union Grove
Baptist Church (July 12-16, 2010), and special studies throughout the year.
Congregational
Care: Julie Keplinger
Congregational Care
has the job of nurturing relationships among members to promote love and
care. This includes periodic Agape
Lunches, Ungroup potluck suppers, the Reflector newsletter, and a Shepherd
program.
Fellowship: June Mueller
Fellowship looks after
those occasions, casual and specific, when Christians get to know each other
over good food and conversation. The
kitchen is always open.
Long-range
Planning: Jay Chronister
Long Range Planning peers into the future,
setting goals for session and keeping track of the empirical measures of our
life together. It has had responsibility
for the Capital Campaign for Kirk Hall.
Mission:
Bill Orr
Missions
is the official instrument for obeying the mandate to take the gospel to the
ends of the earth, primarily through educational, medical, service and evangelistic
ministries. We maintain a partnership
with the Presbyterian Church of Grenada.
Outreach
and Evangelism: Travis Taylor
Evangelism and Outreach creates opportunities for those outside
the membership to learn about South Plains.
In addition to presenting us to the community, it introduces new members
to the congregation through an Inquirer’s Class.
Worship: Linda Makrancy
Worship looks after the central, public act of
the church: worship on the Lord’s Day.
It also plans worship for special days on the calendar such as Christmas
Eve, Ash Wednesday and Maundy Thursday.
Our music program falls under worship.
